> Nipponshi-dori <

Nipponshi-dori represents the imaginary street in Japan where these authentic photographs were taken. This neologism was created to establish a unity in space for all those images and could be translated as "the street of a Japanese city". R. Dejarnac (c) 2017.

> Spirit of Japan <

The idea behind this series of photographs is to showcase the culture, the tradition, and the history of Japan from the perspective of minimalist objects or scenery depicted in black & white photographs. The monochromatic tone translates the timelessness the Japanese civilization is plunged into for thousands of years. R. Dejarnac (c) 2017.

> Nihonjin <

Nihonjin: Japanese people native to Japan. In this series of stolen street portraits, I wanted to capture the face of Nihonjin in nowadays Japan. The young, the old, students, workers, clerks or even the emblematic geishas. Each person is in his own environment, which I tried to disturb as less as possible. One can see that even now the duality Tradition/Modernity is omnipresent in Japan. These photographs represent my testimony of Nihonjin from the XXI century. R. Dejarnac (c) 2014.
