> Nipponshi-dori <
Nipponshi-dori represents the imaginary street in Japan where these authentic photographs were taken. This neologism was created to establish a unity in space for all those images and could be translated as "the street of a Japanese city". My photographs represent an open window on a different world. Everybody can interpret them differently and can travel his own way. R. Dejarnac (c) 2016-2018.
> Nihonjin <
Nihonjin: Japanese people native to Japan. In this series of stolen street portraits, I wanted to capture the face of Nihonjin in nowadays Japan. The young, the old, students, workers, clerks or even the emblematic geishas. Each person is in his own environment, which I tried to disturb as less as possible. One can see that even now the duality Tradition/Modernity is omnipresent in Japan. These photographs represent my testimony of Nihonjin from the XXI century. R. Dejarnac (c) 2014-2018.
