Nihonjin
Nihonjin is a term defining the native people in Japan. In this series of stolen street portraits, I wanted to capture the face of Nihonjin in nowadays Japan. The young, the old, students, workers, the famous salarymen or even the emblematic geishas. Each person is in his own environment, which I tried to disturb as less as possible. One can see that even now the duality Tradition/Modernity is omnipresent in Japan. These photographs represent my testimony of Nihonjin from the XXI century.
This photographic series was made during several stays in Japan over the period (2014-2019).
