No need to introduce Nutcracker, one of the most popular ballets in the world from Russian composer Piotr Tchaikovsky. 120 years after its premiere at Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, I have followed the ‘Sugar Plum Fairy’ all day long in the endless walkways of the Prague National Theater until she appears magnificently on stage. Aya Watanabe is an accomplished Japanese ballet dancer, who produced herself in the most prestigious stages all around the world and who is part of the Czech National Ballet since 2009.
